Pinnacle Gyan Mandir Morang and Nepal Police School (Blue) have entered the quarterfinals of the seventh edition of the Koshi Provincial Inter-School DIGP Running Cup Football Tournament, which concluded on the fifth day.

In the first match held at the football ground at Nepal Police Provincial Office, Dharan, on Sunday, Pinnacle Gyan Mandir Morang defeated the opposing team by a margin of 1-0 and made it to the quarter-finals.

The goal scored by Saksham Raj Thapa of Pinnacle School in the 19th minute of the second half was decisive. Nihang Rai of Pinnacle, who performed well in the match, was declared the 'Man of the Match'. He received a cash prize of Rs 1,005.

Similarly, in the second match, Nepal Police School (Blue) defeated Depot School Dharan by a margin of 4-1 in Tribaker to enter the quarter-finals. The match went to Tribaker after both teams scored a goal in the stipulated time. In Tribaker, Johnesh Rai, Swarnim Yakkha, Swapinal Yakkha and Ujjwal Ghatani of Nepal Police School (Blue) scored the goals. Ian Limbu of Depot School scored a goal, while John Limbu and Bachan Rai failed to score. Prateek Jung Basnet of Nepal Police School was declared the 'Man of the Match' in the match. He received a cash prize of Rs 1,005 along with a medal and a certificate.

According to the organizers, all the matches of the first round of the competition have been completed. The first quarter-final match to be held on Monday will be between Nepal Police School (Red) and Nidhi Secondary School, Birtamod at 1 pm, while the second quarter-final match will be between Siddhartha Secondary School, Sundarharaincha, Morang and Mount Hermon Academy, Dharan at 2:30 pm, according to the organizers. 16 schools from Koshi Province are participating in the competition.
