Five teams have secured a place in the quarterfinals of the second DVM Cup inter-school cricket tournament being held in Sunsari with the aim of producing players from the school level.
The three teams that will enter the last eight of the quarterfinals will be decided in the last match of the league stage between Sushma Godavari School and Sunsari Crystal Academy on Monday. The host DVM School has secured a place in the quarterfinals by becoming the winner of Group 'A' in the league stage matches under the ongoing competition at the pitch of Nepal DVM Global Academy in Itahari-9. Senderfit School and Secret Heart English School have been eliminated from the same group. Another team of the host, DVM Sagarmatha, has secured a place in the quarterfinals from Group 'B' by winning 100 percent in both matches. Itahari Model and Sukuna Secondary School have been eliminated from the league stage from the same group. Sunsari Ramdhuni's Unique Academy has won Group 'C' and Janata Mavi Itahari has entered the quarterfinals as the winner of Group 'D'. Mount Makalu and Balvikas School were eliminated from Group 'C', while Greenpeace Academy and Mahendra Memorial School returned home from Group 'D' in the league stage. Kosi St. James School emerged as the winner from Group 'E' and entered the quarterfinals, while Bishwa Adarsh School and Little Flower English School were eliminated. The quarterfinal matches will begin from Monday, said competition coordinator Kshitij Dahal.
