The Panchthar District Athletics Association has honored three runners.
The association honored runners Pushpa Serma, Osan Rai and Indramaya Javegu while organizing a public program at Gadhi Secondary School in Phidim Municipality-4.
Among those honored, Pushpa Serma and Osan Rai had won silver medals in the 5-kilometer race at the Koshi Festival held in 2081 BS. Runner Indramaya Javegu, who is also a district member, was honored with a dosalla and a letter of appreciation for her financial, physical and moral support in organizing large and small marathon competitions in the district, informed the association's district president Purnahang Tumbapo (Renjo).
They were honored by Santosh Moktan, chairman of the District Sports Development Committee Panchthar, from the seat of the chief guest, presenting them with a dosalla and a letter of appreciation.
Meanwhile, the Athletics Association has nominated Titus Rai for the vacant district member post through its third meeting.
On the same occasion, the association distributed warm clothes suitable for the winter months to 20 students studying at Garhi Secondary School. The clothes were distributed under the sponsorship of District Member Indramaya Javegu, said Chairman Tumbapo.
