The 33rd edition of the Triveni Cup begins today in Besisahar, Lamjung

The 33rd edition of the Triveni Cup nationwide football tournament is starting today, Saturday, in Besisahar, the headquarters of Lamjung.

The first match of the tournament to be held at the sports ground in Sahaji, Besisahar will be played between the former departmental team Armed Police Force's APF Football Club and Sundarbazar Football Club at 2 pm.

The president of the organizer Triveni Youth Club, Tekjung Gurung, said that since it is the inaugural match on the first day, only one match will be played and then 2 matches will be played every day except the final.

The winner will receive 1.2 million rupees, a trophy, a medal and a certificate. The runner-up will receive 600,000 rupees, a medal and a certificate.

Similarly, the best player, the highest scorer and the best goal keeper will receive 25,000/25,000 each, a trophy and a certificate. The organizer has stated that the best player of the match will be given 10,000 rupees and a trophy for each match. This year, 16 teams will participate in the tournament.

The two teams that lost in the semi-finals last year were given 200,000 rupees each, but this has been removed from this year. It is estimated that 13.2 million rupees will be spent on running the tournament, including the Triveni evening to be held on the evening of 15 Pus Tamu Lhosar.
