Nepal Karate has organized training for school-level players with the participation of national team coaches and players.
Free training was provided to over 800 students from the valley at the Karate Hall in Satdobato on Saturday.
‘The training is being conducted in one place with the aim of enhancing the growth, development and morale of the players,’ said national team coach Kushal Shrestha. ‘We believe that this program will provide proper guidance, inspiration and help to school-level players in their goal of reaching the national team.’
The program, which has been providing free training continuously every Saturday, has been specially made for the ninth week and all the participating players have been provided with free T-shirts signed by the champions, said program coordinator Purushottam Pokharel.
Asian Games silver medalist in karate Erica Gurung said that she was happy to share her experience with school-level students.
The training was provided by the national team's head coach Kushal Shrestha, kata coach Mandekaji Shrestha, players Erica Gurung, Sanumaya Thing, Swanim Manandhar, Mohammad Sheikhu Alam, and national team captain Santosh Shrestha.
The organizer has also stated that the program, which is currently targeted for the Valley, will be held in all seven provinces as per the need.
