Nepal Police Club and Tiptop Help Nepal Sports Club emerged victorious in the men's category on the first day of the 9th NVA Women's and Men's Volleyball Championship on Friday.

At the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, Team Police defeated Dhorpatan Sports Club 3-1 (25-20, 25-14, 33-35, 25-14).

Help Nepal, which fielded three Pakistani players, defeated departmental team APF Club in straight sets. APF won the match in sets of 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

Similarly, in the women's category, the defending champions Nepal Police and Tribhuvan Army Club emerged victorious. Police defeated Sudurpaschim Province Volleyball Association in sets of 25-10, 25-6, 25-11. In the other match, Army defeated Everest Volleyball Club of Butwal 25-16, 25-14, 25-23.
