The 22nd Machhapuchhre Pokhara Open and Veterans Tennis Competition, organized by the Kaski District Tennis Association, is scheduled to be held at the Pokhara Stadium from 11 to 15 December.

The association organized a press conference in Pokhara on Wednesday and gave information about the competition. The competition to be held at the Pokhara Rangsala Tennis Complex will feature 12 different events in men's and women's singles and doubles for the ages of 35, 45, 55 and 65 and above.

According to competition coordinator and association vice-president Navin Chalise, the men's and women's singles winners in the open category will receive 80,000 rupees and the runner-up 40,000 rupees. The semi-finalists will receive 20,000 rupees. The doubles winner will receive 30,000 rupees and the runner-up 15,000 rupees.

The singles winner over 35 years of age will receive 60,000 rupees and the runner-up 30,000 rupees, the winner over 45 years of age will receive 40,000 rupees and the runner-up 20,000 rupees, the winner over 55 years of age will receive 30,000 rupees and the runner-up 15,000 rupees, and the winner over 65 years of age will receive 15,000 rupees and the runner-up 7,500 rupees.

Association president Rajkumar Gurung said that the association has been organizing the competition continuously for 22 years with the aim of introducing Pokhara through sports tourism.
