Arsenal booked their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup by defeating Crystal Palace in a penalty shootout on Tuesday. Arsenal won 8-7 on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

William Saliba scored Arsenal's eighth goal before goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga made a crucial save. Arsenal had taken the lead through an own goal from Mackenzie Lacroix at the Emirates.

Marc Gueye then equalised for Palace. Arsenal will now face Chelsea in the last four. Manchester City and Newcastle United will meet in the other semi-final. The semi-final will be a two-legged tie.
