Nepali canoeing duo Krishna Khadka and Ranjan Kandel have won medals at the Nujiang Wildwater Canoeing Asian Championship held in China.

Krishna won the gold medal and Ranjan the bronze medal in the championship that ended on December 23. They performed well and won medals in the MK 1 short distance race. This is Nepal's first gold medal in Asian Canoeing.

Nepali athletes won two medals, while Chinese Li Pinsong won the silver. Only two athletes from Nepal participated in the three-day championship. The Nepali canoeing and kayaking team officials were Surya Prasad Joshi and Mahesh Khadka.
