The Li-Ning Basketball Tournament is starting from Monday. The tournament, organized by the Nepal Basketball Association, will continue until December 12. The tournament, to be held in Dankmandu, Boudha, will be based on the selection process for the Himalayan Java National Basketball League.

The top 4 teams from the 12-team competition will be selected for the National Basketball League, where 8 teams, including the 4 teams that finished in the top 4 last year, will compete. According to Li-Ning Basketball Tournament Coordinator Norbu Gurung, Kirtipur Club, Golden Gate College, Times College and Hands Academy are in the national league.

Li-Ning Basketball Group ‘A’ includes ISA, Tarhar and Nepal Army, Group ‘B’ includes Vishal Milan Kendra, Royal and Gandaki, Group ‘C’ includes Chanakya, Solo Basketball and Boudha Basketball Club, and Group ‘D’ includes Play Box, Boudha People Boat Club and Shankardev College.

Based on the results of the league-cum-knockout, two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, while the teams that reach the semifinals will be selected for the national league.
