Hosts Mathrubhumi 'A' and Bouddhav Children's Haven School won the second Mathrubhumi Cup inter-school basketball tournament on Sunday. Mathrubhumi 'A' emerged as the champions in the boys' and Bouddhav Children's girls' categories.

In the boys' final on home court, Matrubhumi defeated its own 'B' team 56-24. Matrubhumi 'A's Avas Raut scored 18 points.

In the girls' title match, Boudha Children defeated Chelsea World School 34-28. Jasmin Gurung of Boudha Children scored 18 points.

The top scorers, Avas and Jasmin, were declared the 'Most Valuable Players' in their respective categories. In the boys' category, Matrubhumi 'A's Saksham Maharjan and Innovative's Rejan Khanal, and in the girls' category, Matrubhumi's Saija Shrestha were named the best 'three-pointer'.

In the boys' category, Matrubhumi 'B's Prayas Dhakal and Chelsea's Tenzing Kusang Sherpa were the top scorers of the tournament. In the boys' category, Paragon Public and KMC Disciplined Team were declared the best team in the girls' category.

The winners were awarded by Matrubhumi founding director Manoj Pant and founding principal Prakriti KC Pant. Matrubhumi coordinator Jayaram Adhikari said that 8 teams competed in the boys and girls categories of the eight-day competition.
