Ivana Thapa of Shivasatakshi-8, Jhapa, and Biyanka Rai of Sankhuwasabha-4 have reached the finals of the women's open singles of the 5th All Nepal Inter-ward National Table Tennis Tournament.

In the semifinals held at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchaur on Wednesday, Ivana defeated Anita Maharjan of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26 in straight sets of 11-9, 11-7, 11-4. Biyanka defeated Diksha Dahal of Dharan-9 in sets of 11-7, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8.

Jayasnu Maharjan of Kirtipur-6 won gold in the U-16 boys singles of the tournament being organized by Spin Events Management and Spin Table Tennis Club. He defeated Prajil Bhattarai of Ramechhap Manthali-4 in the finals of 10-12, 11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 11-4. Rijan Shakya of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-16 and Nirvan Vajracharya of Lalitpur-9 came third.

Earlier, Surmya Shakya of Lalitpur-8 won gold in the girls' category of the same tournament. In the women's team event, Shivasatakshi-8 team came first. The team of Ivana Thapa and Sikka Suwal defeated the team of Narmada Khaitu and Diya Deula of Bhaktapur-5 by 3-1 sets in the final.
