The 15th International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship (IOFTC) began on Thursday. On the first day, 22 gold medals were decided in board breaking.

Nepalese Taekwondo Academy won the most gold medals, 6, at the Rakhep Covered Hall on Thursday. Anil Tamang won the men's 15-17 weight category and Salina Karki won the women's 15-17 weight category. Both are from Nepalese Taekwondo. Among other players, Narayanlal Karna won the 50+ color, Riten Shrestha won the 12-14 color, Mingma Tamang won the 12-14 yellow belt, and Supreme Pudasaini won the 12-14 black belt.

Niwa Maharjan (pictured) from the United States became the champion in the red belt under 8 years. Edie Kwan from the United States won the women's 18-32 age category and Uddhav Poudel of Chandragirika Taekwondo Dojang won the gold in the men's category. Yubaraj Karki of the same dojang won the gold in the 9-11 age category. Ganesh Bahadur Khadka from NRNA Malaysia won the 32-49 age category and Sahadev Shrestha won the black belt over 50 years.
