Suramya Shakya of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-8 has won the gold medal in the U-16 Singles Girls category of the 5th All Nepal Inter-County National Table Tennis Championship. Suramya is the first player to win gold in the competition.

In the final held at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchaur, Surmya defeated Narmada Khaitu of Bhaktapur-5 in sets of 11-4, 11-5, 8-11, 11-5. Urbi Suwal of Bhaktapur-2 and Arsana Maharjan of Lalitpur-17 came joint third.

The competition, organized by Spin Events Management and Spin Table Tennis Club, is being contested in 11 categories including men's/women's singles. The competition, which is being held under the main sponsorship of Honor and co-sponsored by NIEC Education Consultancy and Everest Fashion, will continue till Saturday.

Meanwhile, Yinhe Sports Equipment Company has sponsored Nepal's national table tennis player Sanyog Kapali. Nitish Rajbhandari, CEO of Danfe Sports, its official dealer in Nepal, and Sanyog have signed an agreement. The agreement will be valid for two years, said Jacky Maharjan, treasurer of the All Nepal Table Tennis Association. They will provide sports equipment and clothing to Sanyog to enhance training and professional development.
