The '10th Gorkhali Running Cup' football competition with the highest prize money in the district is scheduled to be held from Falgun 3 to 9.
The organizer Harmatari Club held a press conference on Tuesday to inform about the competition. 16 teams will participate in the competition.
The winning team of the competition will be awarded Rs 400,000 and the runner-up Rs 200,000.
Similarly, the best player in the tournament will be awarded Rs 25,000 and the best goalkeeper and top scorer Rs 15,000, said Anil Shrestha, chairman of the organizer Harmatari Club. A prize of Rs 35,000 has been arranged for the disciplined team. He also said that the competition will be conducted through a knockout method.
The organizer also stated that the competition was organized with the aim of attracting the youth of the district to sports and helping to prepare professional players.
