TIA and Malpi City reached the semifinals of the boys' basketball tournament under the third Kasthamandap Cup on Monday.
In the tournament being held at the host school, Kasthamandap, TIA defeated Kasthamandap 'B' by a score of 28-12. Malpi defeated Reliance Co-Ed by 57-28. In the boys' category, Budhanilkantha defeated Kasthamandap 'A' by 20-15 and Matrubhumi defeated Kantipur by 40-10 to secure a place in the semifinals.
In the girls' category, Dikshalay defeated Kathmandu Meridian by 20-7, Matrubhumi defeated Excelsior by 13-10 and Imperial World defeated Kasthamandap 'B' by 13-8 to secure a place in the semifinals. Kasthamandap 'A' has already reached the semifinals.
In the girls' futsal category, Rato Bangla defeated Ved Vyas by 3-1 (tiebreaker) and AVM defeated Galaxy Public by 1-0 to secure a place in the title clash.
In the senior boys' category, Ved Vyas defeated Kasthamandap 'A' 1-0 to make it to the finals. Ved Vyas will play the winner between Excelsior and Matrubhumi for the title.
In the junior boys' category, Excelsior defeated Matrubhumi 5-1, Pushpanjali defeated Little Wonder 2-0, Kathmandu Pragyakunj defeated Kasthamandap 'A' 2-0 and Vidyavani defeated Galaxy 1-0 to book their place in the semi-finals.
