APF and East Bengal Club, the title contenders in the SAFF Women's Club Championship football, will take to the field on Thursday. Both teams will have an opportunity to secure their second consecutive win and lay the foundation for a place in the final.
East Bengal will face Karachi City FC in the first match at the Dashrath Stadium. APF will play against Transport United in the second match. Ahead of the third day of the tournament, APF and East Bengal are tied in the top two positions with 3 points each. Both have played only one match.
In the tournament, which has a total of five teams participating, Karachi has 2 points, while Transport and Nasreen Sports Academy are tied at 1 point each. East Bengal of India defeated Bhutan's Transport 4-0 in their first match.
APF also won against Bangladesh's Nasreen 4-0. Karachi, on the other hand, drew with both Transport and Nasreen with goals.
If East Bengal and APF win their second matches, the chances of the remaining three teams reaching the final will be slim. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will directly qualify for the final.
