The host Tellok Sporting Club has made a winning start to the Sri Lanka Gold Cup international football tournament.
Tellok entered the semi-finals by defeating Red Horse FC Ilam 5-3 in a trybreaker in the opening match on Tuesday.

The competitors, who played a one-on-one draw in the stipulated time, led to a penalty shootout. For Tellok, Shishir Rai, Sunajij Limbu, Dipesh Limbu, Sabin Limbu and Pranish Gunde managed to score goals.
Although Ilam's Vivek Sunam, Arjun Gurung, and Binod Dhamala managed to score goals, Tellok's first shot was blocked by keeper Parbat Limbu.
Tellok's Dipesh opened the scoring in the 38th minute of the first half. In the 48th minute, Ilam's Binod equalized by heading the ball back. Tellok's goal keeper Parbat was named the Man of the Match.
Wednesday's match between Newstar Football Club Birtamod Jhapa and Panchthar YWY Football Club Phidim will start at 2 pm, the organizers have announced.
The winner of the tournament, which features eight teams, including one from India, will receive three lakhs and the runner-up one lakh 50 thousand. The final match of the tournament will be held on Mangsir 29, informed Arjun Bhattarai, president of the organizing club.
