He lost the first match to host Vietnam's Pham La Hoang Anh in a competitive match. He lost the match in a 2-1 set. Abhishek, who is in Group 'B', lost the first set 7-6 (8-6) in a tiebreaker, but came back in the second set to win the match 6-4. He lost the final and decisive set 6-4.
