For the first time, 48 teams will participate in the upcoming World Cup. Of these, 42 teams have already been decided. There will be play-offs for the remaining six teams.
The draw for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico, was made on Friday, and Argentina, Spain and England have been placed in some easy groups. France has been placed in a difficult group.
Argentina, the winner of the last World Cup, will start the tournament with a match against Algeria. For the first time, 48 teams will participate in the next World Cup. Of these, 42 teams have already been decided. There will be play-off matches for the remaining six teams.
