8th Mayor's Cup National Cycling Race: 19 people, including national athletes, competing

The winner of the 8th Mayor's Cup National Cycling Race will receive a prize of Rs 25,000. The prize money has been reduced this year compared to last year.

The seventh edition was awarded a prize of 50,000. Preparations are underway to hold competitions in five categories in the competition, which will start from BP Chowk in Nepalgunj on November 20. The winner of the 36-kilometer MTB open race will receive 25,000, the second 15,000, and the third 10,000. 19 people, including national athletes, are competing in this category.

There are two categories in which only Banke athletes can participate. These include a 22-kilometer race for men and a 16-kilometer race for women. The winners of the 78 participating men and 9 participating women's races will receive 10,000, 7,000, and 5,000 prizes.

8 people are participating in the 25-kilometer MTB open women's race. In this category, the first place will receive 20,000, the second 15,000, and the third 10,000 prizes.

The winner of the MTB Master, which includes those over 45 years of age, will receive 15,000, 20,000, and 7,000 prizes. 16 people are competing in this 25-kilometer category.

Pradeep Sapkota, president of the organizer Nepalgunj Cycling Club, said that the competition was organized with the support of 275,000 rupees from the Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City. He informed that 335,000 rupees will be spent on the competition.
