The 19th edition of the Valley Public Inter-School Basketball Tournament, which will be contested in three disciplines, will begin on Friday.
The competition, organized by Valley Public High School, will be held in three categories: senior boys, girls and junior boys, at Bhangal in Budhanilkantha Municipality-8, until November 29.
Informing about the competition on Thursday, Valley Public founder and principal Krishna Prasad Adhikari said that 29 teams will compete in senior boys and 27 teams in girls and junior boys.
The game will be played on the basis of league and knockout. Sports in-charge Purna Neupane said that the teams have been divided into 8 groups in the three categories. The top three teams in all three categories will receive trophies along with Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. The Most Valuable Player, Best Three Pointer and Highest Scorer will receive trophies.
Greenland and Valley Public High School are the defending champions in senior boys and senior girls, respectively. Trijyoti won the junior boys title.
Mahesh Adhikari, the school's administrative chief, informed that the competition, which began in 2061 BS, has been organized regularly except during the Corona pandemic.
