Astronics Management, the organizer of the KB Sam Nepal Kabaddi League (NKL), is planning to hold the NKL NextGen Inter-School Kabaddi Championship with the aim of producing players. The Kathmandu Valley selection tournament for this is starting on Sunday.
The Valley Selection Tournament will be held for two days at Mid Valley Secondary School in Thimi. Eight schools will compete in it on a knockout basis. The winning team of the Kathmandu Valley Selection will enter the final stage of the national level NKL Inter School Kabaddi Championship.
Regional level selection tournaments will also be organized in Pokhara, Biratnagar, Butwal, Dhangadhi and Janakpur. A total of 6 teams, including the winners of the selections from each region, will compete in the final stage of the NKL NextGen Inter School Kabaddi Championship to be held on the occasion of NKL Season 2.
Astronix Management, which is preparing for NKL Season 2, is organizing the NKL Inter School Kabaddi Championship in an effort to develop kabaddi from the grassroots level, the organizers have said.
Amit Kumar Begani, Head of Astronix Management, said that this tournament is expected to increase the attraction towards Nepali kabaddi and NKL.
Astronix Management of Begani Group organized the first edition of KB Sam NKL last year with the approval of the Nepal Kabaddi Association. The draft and tournament dates for NKL Season 2 will be announced soon.
