The semi-final match of the Kanchenjunga Seselung Women's Gold Cup Football Tournament is starting from Wednesday. The first semi-final will be played between Phungling Municipality and Maiwakhola Rural Municipality at 2 pm today.

Phungling defeated Phaktanglung Rural Municipality by 3-0 goals to reach the semi-finals, while Maiwakhola defeated Sirijanga Rural Municipality by 2-0 goals to enter the last four.

In the last quarter-final match held on Tuesday, Meringden defeated Sidingwa Rural Municipality by 2-1 goals to reach the semi-finals. Meringden will play Pathibhara Yangwarak Rural Municipality tomorrow to enter the final. Pathibhara Yangwarak secured a place in the semi-finals by defeating Aathrai Triveni Rural Municipality by 3-1 goals in the tiebreaker.

The winner of the competition, organized on the occasion of the great festival of the Limbus, ‘Chasok Tangnam (Nwagi Puja), will receive Rs 202,000 along with a trophy, and the runner-up will receive Rs 102,000. The ‘Man of the Match’ will receive Rs 5,000 each, all the best players in their respective categories will receive Rs 8,000 each, and the best player will receive Rs 10,000.
