Village council chairman Bhagat Singh Khadka said that a cricket field along with a park has been prepared as a pride project of ISMA rural municipality.
A cricket ground of international standards has been built in ISMA rural municipality. The cricket ground has been built at Jaidhunga BP Park in Jharna, near the Tamghas-Chaldi-Simaltari section of the Madan Bhandari Highway.
In the first phase, work worth Rs 500,000 was done in the fiscal year 2079/80. Work worth Rs 10 million was done in the fiscal year 2080/081. Then, in the fiscal year 2081/082, work worth Rs 12.3 million was done, informed the spokesperson and vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, Advocate Parbati Kunwar. According to her, work on the playground has started from the initial zero phase.
The park with the playground included soil laying, hair laying, Gavin netting, wire mesh, fencing, garden construction, preparation of picnic structures, planting fruit trees, arrangement of drinking water, parking lot management and overall management of the playground.
The cricket field along with the park was prepared as a pride project of ISMA rural municipality, said the rural municipality chairman Bhagat Singh Khadka. 'We have prepared the cricket field by constructing a park as a pride project of the municipality,' he said, 'The cricket tournament will be held soon.'
Parivartan Youth Club is organizing an open municipal-level cricket tournament from Mangsir 20 to 22 at the same cricket ground. The main sponsor of the tournament, which will feature 12 teams, is ISMA Rural Municipality.
The winner will receive 55,000 in cash, a cup, a medal and a certificate, while the runner-up will receive 25,000 in cash, a medal and a certificate, informed Sports Coordinator Ashish Panthi.
