Sumit Bista of Nepal Police Club has won a gold medal in the 13th Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Competition.

He won the medal in the men's under 58 kg weight category at the Academy Hall of the Nepal Taekwondo Association in Satdobato on Wednesday, defeating Bikash Rai of the Army. Sumit is a player undergoing special training for Mission 2026. Rupesh Tamang of APF Club and Sujan Gurung of Apsulut Taekwondo Dojang won the bronze medal.

In the senior women's under 46 kg weight category, Anjali Kumari Saud of APF won the gold medal after defeating Santoshi Rai of the Army in the final. Prakriti Pali of Police and Jasmine Gurung of Barhathawa Dojang won the bronze medal. In the junior men's under 48 kg category, Nishan Pyakurel of Aitaram Dojang won the gold, Sameer Kunwar of Kanchanpur won the silver, and Pramish Rai of Rajdevi Dojang and Bhupendra Thakur of Kanchanpur won the bronze medal. 

In the junior women's under 49 kg category, Risika Bhujel of Rajdevi Dojang of Sunsari won the gold medal, while Sonia Tamang of Lines Martial Arts won the silver. Khushi Tamang of Fairless Dojang and Suhana Shrestha of Himshikhar School won the bronze.

In the boys' under 29 kg category, Prasidh Tamang of Swastik Dojang won the gold medal, Rochak Pudasaini of Sri Siddharth Dojang won the silver medal, and Prashan Yadav of Barhathawa and Aarus Thapa of Sri Siddharth won the bronze medal.

The championship will continue till Mangsir 20.
