Nepal has finished as the runner-up in the ACC U-19 Premier Cup. Nepal was defeated by home team UAE by 27 runs in the final held on Monday in Ajman.

After Nepal won the toss, UAE, who were invited to bat, were all out for 147 runs in 45.5 overs at the Karwan Ground. But in reply, Nepal was also all out for 120 runs in 33.2 overs, and UAE won the title.

UAE's opening bowling duo Yugjay Sharma and Ali Asgar Sooms took 3 wickets each. Yugjay made 37 runs in 9 overs with 2 maidens and Ali Asgar made 18 runs in 10 overs with 2 maidens. Similarly, Udis Suri and Nur Ullah Ayobi took 2 wickets each.

Nepal played under pressure from the start after openers Neeraj Kumar Yadav and Nischal Chhetri were dismissed for 1 run each. Darsh Sunar also failed to open the account. Another opener Vansh Chhetri scored 11 runs. Ashish Luther and Ashok Dhami shared a 44-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Luther scored 25 runs in 40 balls, including 4 fours. After Chandan Ram was dismissed for 1 run, captain Ashok Dhami led the innings. He hit 4 fours in 66 balls. Roshan Bishwakarma scored 25 runs in 16 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Aparajit Poudel was dismissed for 6 and Dayanand Mandal for nil. Nitesh Kumar Patel remained unbeaten on 8 runs.

Earlier, Ahmed Khudadad had scored 71 runs from UAE. He was named Player of the Match for hitting 6 fours in 126 balls. Ayobi scored 26 runs in 47 balls with 2 fours and a six, and Ayan Misbah scored 11 runs, but no one else could score double figures.

Dayanand took 6 wickets for Nepal. He spent 17 runs in 6.5 overs with 2 maidens. Aparajit took 2 wickets in 10 overs for 39 runs, while Nitesh and Ashok took 1 wicket each.

UAE and Nepal had qualified for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup by reaching the final.
