Nepal defeated Malaysia by nine wickets in the semi-final of the tournament being held in the UAE on Saturday, thanks to an excellent bowling performance by opening bowler duo Nitesh Kumar Patel and Chandan Ram.
Nepali team has reached the final of the ACC U-19 Premier Cup cricket. Opening bowlers Nitesh Kumar Patel and Chandan Ram put in a brilliant bowling performance as Nepal defeated Malaysia by nine wickets in the semi-final of the tournament being held in the UAE on Saturday.
Nepal will face home team UAE in the final on Monday. UAE defeated Oman by 8 wickets in the other semi-final held on Saturday. Nepal defeated Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong to reach the semi-finals as group winners.
Malaysia, who were invited to bat after Nepal won the toss, were bowled out for 51 runs in just 17.2 overs at the Seven District Ground-2 in Ajman. Nitesh took 24 in 8 overs with 2 maidens and Chandan took 17 runs in 5 overs with 1 maiden. Aparajit Poudel, captain Ashok Dhami and Roshan Bishwakarma took 1 wicket each.
Apart from Mohammad Fathul Muin, who batted at number nine, scoring 11 and Hamzah Pangi scoring 13 runs, no other team from Malaysia could score double figures. When Malaysia had already lost 7 wickets by scoring 13 runs in the eighth over, these two extended their innings a little.
Even though Neeraj Kumar Yadav was out for 4 runs, Nepal achieved the target within 8 overs. Vansh Chhetri scored 7 runs off 17 balls and Nischal Chhetri remained unbeaten on 10 runs off 14 balls.
