South Africa defeated India by a huge margin of 408 runs on the fifth day of the second Test on Wednesday, taking a decisive 2-0 lead in the two-Test series.

India, who were set a huge target of 549 runs to win, were all out for just 140 runs in their second innings. Ravindra Jadeja top-scored with 54 runs. Among the South African bowlers, Seaman Harmer took 6 wickets for 37 runs.

After South Africa scored 489 runs in their first innings, India were all out for just 201 runs. South Africa did not force India to follow on.

The visiting team then declared their second innings at 260 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. South Africa had won the first Test by 30 runs. This is the first time in 25 years that South Africa has won a Test series on Indian soil.
