Sher Bahadur Century Memorial Cricket Tournament from Friday

The Sher Bahadur Century Memorial Inter-School T-20 Cricket Tournament, which is being held here every year, is set to begin from Friday. The organizer, Rupandehi Cricket Association, organized a press conference on Wednesday to inform about the tournament. According to the association, the tournament, which will be held from Friday, will continue until Poush 1. 30 schools from Rupandehi are participating in the tournament.

Bimal Century, the owner of Parbat Jewelers in Bhairahawa, has sponsored the competition in memory of his grandfather. Sports coordinator Uday Kumar Mallick said that 30 teams from various schools in the district will participate in the competition to be held at the Siddhartha Cricket Ground in Bhairahawa. According to him, the participation of 6 schools has increased this time. Players up to grade 10 will be able to participate in the competition.

The winning team of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 25,000 along with a trophy, medal and certificate. Similarly, the Man of the Series will receive Rs 10,000, the Best Bowler and Best Batter will receive Rs 5,000 each, the Man of the Match of each match will receive Rs 500, and the most disciplined team will also be awarded, said program coordinator Mallick. Rupandehi Cricket Association President Hari Bahadur Thapa said that such competitions held at the school level will help in player production. He said that the first competition of the season has been held at the school level every year.
