Nepal has made a winning start to the ACC U-19 Premier Cup after Neeraj Kumar Yadav's century. Nepal defeated Saudi Arabia by 8 wickets in the tournament that began in the UAE on Tuesday.

 

Nepal achieved the target of 219 runs in 30 overs at the Karwan Ground in Ajman. Opening batsman Neeraj completed his century in 78 balls. He scored 114 runs in a total of 90 balls. He was dismissed when the score was tied, hitting 13 fours and 1 six.

Neeraj shared a partnership of 63 runs with Vansh Chhetri for the first wicket and 155 runs with Nischal Chhetri for the second wicket. Vansh scored 30 runs in 20 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six. Nischal was dismissed in 73 balls, hitting 66 runs with 5 fours and 1 six.

Earlier, after Nepal won the toss, Saudi Arabia, who were invited to bat, scored 218 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Opener Mohammad Zubair Sunsara scored the highest 48 runs. He hit 3 fours and 1 six in 76 balls.

Mohammad Rehan Siddiqui scored 41 off 59 balls with 3 fours, Omar Ahmed Wahab scored 39 off 37 balls with 3 fours and 1 six, Majdi scored 25 off 14 balls with 3 fours and 1 six, Hasir Ahmed Sajad scored 16 and captain Ryan Khan scored 17.

Nepal captain Ashok Dhami took 2 for 34 runs in 9 overs, while Dayanand Mandal, Sushil Rawal, Sibrin Shrestha and Darsh Sonar took 1 wicket each.
