Nepal Vyayam Mandir, the oldest gymkhana in Nepal, has announced to provide cash prizes of up to 150,000 rupees as an incentive to its club players who win medals in international bodybuilding competitions.
As per the 25th Annual General Meeting of the organization held on Saturday, athletes will be awarded from Rs 50,000 to Rs 150,000 if they win medals for the nation.
Accordingly, the first placer in the World and Asian Bodybuilding Competition will be awarded Rs 150,000, the second placer Rs 100,000 and the third placer Rs 75,000. The first placer in the South Asian Bodybuilding Competition will receive Rs 100,000, the second placer Rs 75,000 and the third placer Rs 50,000.
The General Meeting has also decided to organize a bodybuilding competition in memory of the first Nepali athlete to participate in an international bodybuilding competition and former Mr. Nepal, the late Saroj Kumar Shrestha.
The General Meeting unanimously approved the annual program of the Vyayam Mandir, the working paper presented by President Narayan Pradhan, the progress report presented by General Secretary Surya Joshi and the financial report presented by Treasurer Prashant Shrestha.
