An open football tournament has been organized in Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-4, Sanwa, on the occasion of Chasok Tangnam, the major festival of the Limbu community, from November 18.
The winner of the competition organized by the Thalang Sporting Club will receive a prize of Rs 152,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 100,000, informed club president Mani Kumar Thalang.
The best keeper, best defender, best player, and high scorer will receive prizes of Rs 5,000 each in the category awards. The man of the match for each game will be given a prize of Rs 2,000 each.
The club has stated that the competition was organized to promote the district's tourist spot, Phung Phung, and the Chasok Tangnam festival. The competition was announced at a press conference on Saturday in the presence of rural municipality president Bhakta Bahadur Karki, national referee, and sports coordinator BK Thalang.
