The third Hisan Tarkeshwor Futsal Tournament under the Kathmandu District of the Higher Education and Secondary Schools Association of Nepal is scheduled to be held from Friday.
The tournament will feature 15 teams, including 8 in the boys' category and 7 in the girls' category, said Tarkeshwor Hisan chairman Lil Bahadur Pun. The teams participating in both categories will be divided into two groups and will play on a league-cum-knockout basis. The group winners and runners-up will advance to the semi-finals.
Coordinator and Tarkeshwor Hisan joint secretary Badrinath Bhatta said that the tournament will cost around Rs 1 lakh.
The two-day tournament, which will be held under the slogan 'One aspect of comprehensive development: sports', will be played at Sacred Heart School in Sheshmati.
Tarkeshwor Hisan secretary Kamal Prasad Gyawali and Tarkeshwor Hisan ECA in-charge Rajesh Rayamajhi said that Tarkeshwor Hisan is emphasizing sports along with education for the all-round development of students.
