Nepal has won a bronze medal at the 29th International Astronomy Olympiad. Sauryam Shrestha, a student of class 10 at St. Xavier's School, Godavari, won the medal for Nepal in the competition held in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, from November 6 to 15, 2082.

What is the National Astronomy Olympiad?
The National Astronomy Olympiad is a preliminary talent identification academic competition. Students who perform well by participating in this competition are recommended for international competitions. More than three thousand students have tested their talents in the competition conducted since 2014.
Students who are recognized as excellent by the program are studying in the best universities in the country and abroad. Among the various national Olympiads conducted in Nepal, the National Astronomy Olympiad is a national program that selects students aged 13-20 studying in grades 8-12 in junior and senior categories and conducts a selection exam in all seven provinces to represent Nepal at the international level.
