Kaski's Laligurans Association has won the ANFA Presidents League football tournament title. Laligurans defeated Kathmandu's Chitlang FC 3-1 in a tiebreaker in the final at the Gauritar Stadium on Tuesday.
The match was pushed to a tiebreaker after a goalless draw in the scheduled time. Laligurans' Ashish Gurung, Lachhu Thapa and Saroj Gurung scored in the tiebreaker. Chitlang's Shishir Lekhi's shot was the only goal. Jay Gurung, who took the first shot for Chitlang, hit the post and returned. Gaurav Shrestha's second shot was stopped by Laligurans' goalkeeper Angel Shrestha. Madan Syangtan's shot was cleared. Laligurans' goalkeeper Angel Shrestha was declared the Player of the Match. Laligurans defeated Kankre Bihar of Surkhet and Chitlang defeated Nawajagruti of Bara in the semi-finals to enter the final. All 4 teams that entered the semi-finals have been selected for the national league.
The best player was Shishir Lekhi of Chitlang. He received 50 thousand. The highest scorer was Ashish Gurung of Laligurans. He scored 4 goals. Along with Gurung, Angel Dangol of Nawajagruti and Anish Bikram Chhetri of Kankre Bihar scored 4 goals each. Angel Shrestha was declared the best goalkeeper of Laligurans. Both received 25 thousand.
