The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has launched the 'FIFA Football for Schools' program in 26 schools in Palpa.
Pankaj Bikram Nembang, central president of the All Nepal Football Association, said that this program was launched as an initiative to connect football with the education system. He said that the FIFA for Schools program is not only a means of sports development, but also a long-term investment in the physical, mental and social development of future leaders. He said at a program organized in Tansen that this program will also help in producing players. He said that the football distribution program for schools has been implemented in 137 countries around the world.
The program is being expanded to all 77 districts in Nepal. In the first phase, FIFA balls will be distributed at the rate of 15 balls to 26 schools in Palpa, said Palpa District Football Association President Pranay Birjung Rana.
FIFA balls will be distributed to 7 schools in Rampur Municipality, 4 in Mathagadhi, and 15 in Tansen Municipality in the district, said President Rana. Deepak Khatiwada, central vice president of the All Nepal Football Association, said that plans are underway at all levels to strengthen the future of football.
Stating that necessary initiatives have been taken to expand football from schools to the community, the main goal of the program was to build a love for the game and discipline in children.
At the FIFA ball distribution program, Tansen Municipality spokesperson Yadav Singh Karki said that the program aimed at increasing enthusiasm among young student players would be important.
Palpa District Football Association Vice President Manoj Legal said that he had reached out to schools in the district and trained sports teachers on how to play football.
He said that this program is expected to help in building a national football team in the future. Prajwal Raj Shakya, Senior Vice President of Palpa District Football Association, said that today's children will get a good opportunity as parents will also play a supporting role.
He said that participating in such programs from their student life will increase the attraction of children towards football. Karan Chitrakar, a member of Palpa District Football Association, said that the love for the game will contribute to preparing a new generation for football.
He said that such programs will be effective for the development of grassroots football. ANFA has stated that this program will focus not only on football-related knowledge but also on topics such as teamwork, discipline, and passion.
