Skibbs and Rising Star have made a winning start in the senior boys' division of the 11th Radiant Cup Inter-School Basketball Tournament.

Skibs defeated People's Academy by a score of 22-20. Skibs' Sohan Thakuri scored 13. Rising Star defeated the host Radiant Public 'B' by 24-9 with Region Thapa's 6.

In the same event, Wisdom defeated Allen Memorial 20-9 and KVC defeated Shri Navin Jyoti 28-17. Wisdom's Saugat scored 10 and KVC's Aronlal Shrestha scored 15.

In the junior boys, Navin Jyoti defeated Golden Flower 13-5 and AI defeated KVC 6-2. Navin Jyoti's Yunikesh Tamang scored 4 and KVC's Aarus Budhathoki scored 4-4.

In the senior girls competition held at the court of the host Radiant in Syuchartar, Golden Flower defeated KVC 24-7 and Naveen Jyoti defeated New Zenith 21-10. Simran Pandey of Flower scored 12 and Avina Dani of Jyoti scored 10.

The tournament was inaugurated by Radiant's School Management Committee Chairman Laxman Singh Kunwar, Nagarjuna Municipality Ward 9 members Laxman Budhathoki and Rajkumar Bhattarai, and Principal Surya Bahadur KC by handing over the ball to the judges. 25 teams are participating in the senior boys competition and 12 teams each in junior boys and senior girls in the competition, which will run until Mangsir 10.
