Rampur defeated Daraithanti Secondary School Rampur 1-0 at the Kisanbari Sports Ground in Rampur Municipality on Saturday. Rampur's player Chirajan Malla scored a goal in the fifth minute of the second half to decide the outcome.
Rampur received a prize of Rs 30,000 and Daraithanti Rs 20,000. Sandeep Rana, president of the International BP Chintan Foundation and social worker, Anil Shahi Thakuri, president of Rampur Football Academy, Kamal Sen, president of Rampur Municipal Sports Development Committee, and others distributed the prizes. Sandesh Rana of Rampur was named the best player, Sangam Bik the best scorer, Bishan Chaubey of Daraithanti the best defender, and Ronik Bik the highest scorer of Anand Niketan were named the player of the final. Chirajan Malla of Rampur was named the player of the final.
Daraithanti defeated Basic Secondary School Rampur-7 3-2 and Rampur defeated Anand Niketan Vidyashram 2-0 to reach the final. Coordinator Keshav Raj Shrestha said that both the losers in the semi-finals received 8,000 each.
Students studying up to class 10 were invited to participate in the competition.
