Kabaddi team to travel to Bangladesh to play in World Cup

An 18-member Nepali team, including 14 players, is set to leave for Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Saturday to participate in the second Women's Kabaddi World Cup.

The Nepali team in the competition to be held from November 17 to 25 includes Manmati Bista, Jayanti Badu, Menuka Kumari Rajbanshi, Rabina Chaudhary, Meena Nepali, Ganga Ghimire, Ashika Kunwar, Sirjana Kumari Tharu, Sirjana Dhanuk, Manisha Joshi, Urusa Shakya, Asma Yadav, Binita Pandit Chhetri and Sanju Thami.

The coach is Bishnu Dutta Bhatta, the assistant coach is Harina Thapa, the manager is Sharad Darshandhari and the referee is Ramesh Chandra Ojha. All Nepal Kabaddi Association General Secretary Arvind Kumar Jha has announced that 12 countries including Nepal will participate in the competition.

National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Tanklal Ghising, NSC member Anjana Shrestha and others bid farewell to the team on Friday. During another program, Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha and General Secretary Rajiv Shrestha also bid farewell to the team.
