Siddhartha Vidya Sadan (Students) and Nepalgunj St. Xavier's School (Students) have emerged champions of the ANFA U-14 Inter-School Football Tournament. Siddhartha Vidya Sadan defeated Kohalpur Bageshwori English Medium School 3-1 and Nepalgunj St. Xavier's School defeated Holyland High School 1-0 in the final match held at the Nepalgunj Stadium on Thursday.

Kamal Pariyar scored in the 19th and 39th minutes to give Siddhartha the final trophy. The team's Lekhraj Bharti scored in the 41st minute. Ashish Balame of Kohalpur Bageshwori gave the team the lead by scoring in the 31st minute. But Bageshwori could not maintain the lead for long. Similarly, in the 20th minute of the game, Siddhartha's Navin Roka had to leave the field after receiving a red card. While Bageshwori's players were advancing the ball in the de-box, Navin, who was the last defender, stopped the opposing team's player with his hand and knocked him down. Referee Amar Ghale showed a red card.

In the final match of the girls' team, Nepalgunj St. Xaviers defeated Holyland High School 1-0 and became the champion. The goal scored by captain Laxmi Budhamagar in the 46th minute for Nepalgunj St. Xaviers was the deciding goal of the final match. In the competition, Yubaraj BK of Siddhartha and Karishma Pasi of Nepalgunj St. Xavier were declared the best players and received trophies in the female category.

The winning players of the competition were awarded by Tanka Bahadur Dhami, President of Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry,  President of the organizer Banke District Football Association and central member of the All Nepal Football Association Bhojraj Shahi, Women's Football Committee Banke President Nitu Shah Chand, Vice President Rosi Singh, General Secretary Nagina Shrestha, Founder of Nepalgunj Marathon TS Thakuri, Head of the Midwest Regional Sports Development Committee Nepalgunj Office Mahesh Chand, former national football player Govinda Prasad Shrestha, Kishore Jung Rana and others.

Shahi, President of the organizer Banke District Football Association, said that the ANFA U-14 football competition will prove to be important in producing talented players from Banke. He said, "The football association is working in conjunction with the society to plan and develop the game." We are working on programs ranging from grassroots to national level competitions and training.'

The winning team of the competition will get the opportunity to represent Banke in the Lumbini Province-level ANFA U-14 Football Competition, said Kamal Khatri, general secretary of the organizer Banke District Football Association. The competition organized by the Banke District Football Association began on Bhadra 20. The competition was stopped midway due to the Genji movement.
