Jhapa Women's Gold Cup: Income of 5.8 million from ticket sales

The Jhapa Women's Gold Cup has earned Rs 5.8 million from ticket sales. The tournament, held from Kartik 17-24 at Dudhe Stadium in Shivasatakshi Municipality, saw an unprecedented attendance of spectators. According to Santosh Thopra, chairman of the organizing committee, tickets worth Rs 3.02 million were sold for the final match alone.

The first semi-final brought in Rs 550,700, the second semi-final Rs 1,105,500 and the four quarter-final matches Rs 1,144,400. President Thopra said that Rs 288,000 was sold in the opening match alone. He said, 'The enthusiasm of the audience has made us more responsible. Our goal is to make women's football stronger.' He said that the ticket revenue will be spent on tournament operations, player incentives and field management. The number of spectators was significant due to the participation of local players in the tournament, competition between departmental teams and the growing attraction towards women's football. Spectators from surrounding districts also flocked to the Dudhe Stadium.

The Nepal Police Club won the Gold Cup title, which was attended by eight teams, including Indians. Police defeated APF Club by a 10-0 goal margin in the final and won a prize of Rs 1,10,000.
