Tigers Team and Gaighat Football Club have been eliminated from the ANFA President's League tournament being held at Gauritar Stadium.
In the first match on Wednesday, Nava Janajagruti Youth Club defeated Tigers team by 5-0 goals and was eliminated from the competition. Pratap Singh Rai of Nava Janajagruti scored two goals in the 60th and 86th minutes of the match. Similarly, Vijay Urnab scored 1/1 goal in the 78th, Sujan Dangol scored 88th and Pujan Thapa scored 1/1 goal in the 90th minute. Pratap Singh Rai, who became the player of the match, received 5,000. The Tigers team has only been able to win one of the 4 matches in the league stage.
Similarly, the second match between Gaighat Football Club and Harans Club on Wednesday ended in a 2/2 draw. Sudeep Shrestha of Gaighat Football Club scored a penalty goal in the 25th minute and Bishwas Udas scored a goal in the 45th minute, while Harans Club's Anish Maharjan scored a goal in the 81st and 89th minutes. Anish Maharjan of Harrans Club, who became the player of the match, received Rs 5,000.
In Group ‘B’, Nav Janajagruti Yuva Club and Gaighat Football Club Saman, who played 3 matches, are at the top of the points table with 5/5 points. Group ‘A’ has Vijay Sports Club and Laligurans Association Club at the top of the points table with 5/5 points. The winner and runner-up teams of Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ will play the semi-finals of the competition. The final match will be held on Mangsir 2. The winner team will receive Rs 1 million and the runner-up team will receive a trophy along with Rs 5 million.
