His ranking is 1149. Abhishek won the first match in the tournament being held at the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy in Bengaluru.
Abhishek, who had a straight-set victory against American player BS Chawla, suffered a defeat in the second match. Abhishek, who competed against Indian top 20 player Parth Agarwal for 2 hours and 42 minutes, lost the match in 2-1 sets. He started well by winning the first set 6-1. Then, after losing the second set 6-3, Abhishek competed until the tiebreaker in the third and deciding set. Finally, he handed the match to Parth 7-6 (8-6).
