A competition has been organized to identify football players at the school level. Rampur Football Academy has organized an inter-school level football competition in Rampur Municipality-7, Kisanbari.
‘Now it’s the students’ turn, the search for talent’ is our slogan, said Anil Shahi Thakuri, president of the academy, ‘We have organized the competition by giving opportunities to players from Rampur and neighboring Syangja up to Chapakot.’
He said that only students studying up to grade 10 are participating in the inter-school football competition. 17 schools from the Kaligandaki Valley area are participating in the competition. According to sports coordinator Keshav Raj Shrestha, 12 secondary schools from Rampur Municipality (Palpa) and five secondary schools from Chapakot Municipality (Syangja) are participating.
In the competition, which will be held until Kartik 29, the winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and the runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs 10,000, along with a trophy, medal, certificate and an inspirational book. Those who reach the semi-finals will receive a cash prize of Rs 8,000 each. Various awards will also be given.
In the match held on Friday, Rampur English Residential Secondary School emerged victorious by defeating Ganga Secondary School of Rampur by 3-0.
