The third Prayagraj Singh Suwal Memorial Inter-ward Futsal Tournament began on Saturday. The organizers and Ward No. 24 won on the first day of the competition.
In the inaugural match held at the Lainchaur Futsal Ground, the host ward 23 defeated Kathmandu Metropolitan City Center 6-2. Vishal Shrestha scored 4 goals including a hat-trick for the winning team in the match. The other 2 goals for Ward 23 were scored by Rajiv Chitrakar and Alex Shrestha.
The goals scored by Kathmandu Metropolitan City's Naveen Bhandari and Anup Magar were just consolation goals. Vishal, who scored 4 goals in that match, was declared the Man of the Match.
In the second match, Ward No. 24 defeated Ward No. 7 3-1. Saman Shrestha, Subham Tuladhar and Sandesh Maharjan scored goals for Ward 24. Sandesh was named Man of the Match. Ward 17's Sugam Maharjan scored a goal.
The competition will run until Kartik 29.
