Pradeep defeated Pranab Manandhar 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 in the final on Saturday at the tennis court in Satdobato to win the title. This is the 17th singles title of Pradeep's career. He has won nine titles in doubles. Rajbir Pradhan and Nishan Shrestha came third.
Shivali defeated Swastika Bista 6-0, 6-2 in the women's final of the tournament organized by Hotel Mystic Mountain with the support of the Nepal Tennis Association. She avenged her defeat to Swastika in the U-16 singles final. Shivali became the champion for the second time overall in the senior category. Prakriti Shrestha and Sunier Thapa came third. The winner in men's/women's singles received a prize of Rs 40,000, the second received Rs 20,000 and the third received Rs 5,000 each.
World-class Dallakoti became the winner in U-12 boys' singles. He defeated Vedanta Chalise 7-5, 6-4 in the final. Sara Panta won the girls' singles in the same category. Sara, who won double gold, also won first in the U-14 singles. Sara defeated Ira Khatri in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 in the final.
In the U-14 boys' singles, Sange Rokaya defeated Vedanta 6-2, 6-2 in the final to win gold. The winners were awarded by the nationally recognized Nepal Tennis Association President Manohardas Mul, Mystic Mountain President Balkrishna Dhwaju, and others. There were 136 male and 83 female competitors. The total prize money of the tournament, organized by the Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI), is Rs 242,000, said coordinator Suryabhushan Vajracharya.
