Nepal Police Club defeated Sankata Football Club 2-0 in the first semi-final match of the LVD Jhapa Women's Gold Cup held at the Dudhe Stadium in Shivasatakshi to secure a place in the final.
In a fiercely competitive match, both teams missed scoring opportunities in the first half. Neither team could score in the first half. Police took the lead in the 70th minute. Mina Deuba headed home a free kick from about 30 yards from Pooja Rana. Police then doubled their lead in the 82nd minute.
Sankata captain Yashoda Shahi failed to clear the ball, and Rekha Poudel took advantage of the opportunity to score the second goal. Forward Samjhana Lawati missed a golden one-versus-one chance in the final minute of the game. Sankata had a consolation goal opportunity towards the end of injury time, but Senu's shot went wide of the goalpost.

The winning team of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 10,10,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs 500,000. The best player will receive Rs 150,000, and the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, coach, emerging player and top scorer will receive Rs 25,000 each.
The final match of the competition will be held on Kartik 24.
