Premier League leaders Arsenal beat Slavia Prague 3-0. Max Daummann, who came on as a substitute, became the youngest player to play in the competition's history. He achieved the feat at 15 years and 308 days.

Bayern and Arsenal are tied at the top of the table and have won all four of their matches. Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made a series of saves at Anfield to keep six-time champions Liverpool out of the race for a narrow win.

Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid beat Union Saint-Gilloise 3-1, Monaco beat Bode/Guilmont 1-0 and Tottenham beat Copenhagen 4-0. Similarly, Napoli drew 0-0 with Eintracht Frankfurt, Juventus and Sporting Lisbon drew 1-1, and Olympiacos and PSG Eindhoven drew 1-1.
