India won the Women's World Cup title on Sunday night after Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma shone with both bat and ball as they defeated South Africa by 52 runs. This is the first time India has won the Women's World Cup.

 

Batting first, India scored 298 runs for the loss of 7 wickets . In reply, South Africa were all out for 246 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai . Deepti took five wickets in that .
